Yes I am soon getting some "old" school stuff and I will aim for a top 3 in 01se with 9700pro.

To the attempt will be used

FX-55 (clawhammer) @ 2850mhz
MSI K8N Neo2
Gskill UTT pc3200 ram @ 265 2-2-2-5
OCZ booster
Gigabyte 9700Pro

How high do you think i can go?

well most of the top tem 9700pros seem to be on dry ice so if your on air you might struggle.

But you must also remember that in 3dmark01 the gpu has a much smaller effect than the cpu.

not at the top level though and less so with the slower cards ive notice my 9800xt score is pretty much stuck till i can get the gpu speed up. cpu speed going from 2750 to 2950 barely netted be 500 points, also his cpu speed isnt massively faster than most of the first page.

it is on air but I am building er chiller so it will be chilled.

I think it can reach about 3000-3100mhz

If you use win2k(xp sucks bad) with that cpu clocks id say a good 26k. I get high 23k with 410/325 9700 clocks and 2.6GHz on the cpu with high end tccd ram. You already have better cpu clocks than me. To get like 35k your gonna need an fx57, dry ice and some serious 9700 clocks, like 550 core, 400+ ram. The cpus gonna need to do near 4GHz ;)

not going to happen, the 9800 has even hit 33k and a few of those have gone over 650 on the core. with these cards the cpu is far less of a botlle neck than a newer card so even if you had a 3.7ghz fx57 i doubt the 9700 will get much over 30k
