This is a quick and dirty poll
Please cast your vote and then tell us what cards and mobo you are running or intend to run (if you are serious about this). I'm trying to get some idea of what folks are into.
This is a public poll, others can see your vote.

I would like to use Crossfire, if I don't have to use an BBA mobo. Eventually when Conroe comes out I would like to run SLI, nothing too face, maybe the ATI equivalent of 6600gts in SLI

single card is enough for me. the only real bench i like it Pi 1m other than that my 9800xt will be replaced by a x800 soon enough

Voted for one card. Unfortunately for me I don't make enough money currently to even upgrade my POS motherboard to a PCIe board and be able to get another card.

I have a 7800GTX and plan to get another...then maybe a pair of X1900s if R580 is worth my while.

I only use one card, don't do enough benchmarking to justify buying another one

I have to chime in here again. Most people have voted for Crossfire and I'd like to know why. First the technology hasn't proven itself yet. There are limited benchmarks on the web but that's it. Secondly ATi wants to charge X850 owners $549 for the X850 Master card. If that is true you can still get a proven SLi technology with a pair of 7800 GTX's for roughly the same price.

Believe it or not some people like to play games too. I understand where I'm at but having two cards isn't just for showing off your 3DMark e-penis.

I will at some point hopefully be running a nextgen crossfire board and 2 cards although I;m sure the progression will be slow. I'm not bleeding edge

Having the one card will be fine for me. I don't like the idea of two cards to toe and I certainly do not appreciate the costs. What were they thinking?

i voted for SLi in the future..
my SLi will be when they figure out a way to give each core control over each GFX Card... i figure one core for each 7800GTX x 2 would be quite enough for gaming.
currently i rock a x2 and 7800GTX

Just one card for me.
Its been shown that buying 1 faster card (i.e. 6800GT) is better than two slower cards (i.e. 2 6600GTs). I'm not rich enough to go out and buy 2 7800GTX's, so 1 card is good enough for me.
When its not fast enough, go out and get a faster one.
no need for sli,
i dont play at huge res', have the £££ or need the extra 3 fps
and as i play css most of the time with settings maxed out still with 70 fps on big maps a 5950u still good enough for me.

I've had SLI and went back to single card for day to day duties.
I originally stormed the ORB to number one about 6 months ago with a pair of TEC cooled Asus xtreme 6800 Ultras and a phasechange cooled FX55. 10 minutes of fame and all that. It was great for benching no doubt. But $1400 for gfx cards alone was silly....even for someone like me that spends a lot on hardware.
After a few weeks of terrorizing the ORB, I sold the Ultras and went to an ATI x850 XT. In gaming situations I couldn't even tell the difference without the fps displayed on the page.
Multi GPUs is for benching and it likely will continue to be. Games will always be written that perform well enough on modest mid range gfx cards. Accordingly, a single high end card will always run great, and mutlie gpu will be overkill. Until the "single" high end card choice is eliminated as a way to get the most out of games, it will remain the practical choice. If games actually took advantage of multi GPUs (by offering features sets not playable on single card solutions), then multi GPU might be worthy as a day to day solution.
My 2 cents:)

Single card is more than enough for those who don't bench, imo
