USB to Serial Adapter/Cable Problem

Hi,

I got a USB to Serial Adapter/cable today and I figured it would be plug n play with Windows XP...but I dont know.

Pluged it in and it found USB to Serial and didn't add anything under PORT. Just HID.

I tried connected a device to the serial port and am getting nothing!

What do I need to do? How can you set or even see the port?

did you use the driver cd that came with the adapter? did you chage the com port (1-4) in device manager.
