Well, I am waiting on my phase to get here but I got impatient and did a vmod and slapped a thermaltake 80mm 75cfm fan on my stock hs and did some ocing. The max I could do was 581 w/artifacts and 575 w/o artifacts. Load temps were around 75C and after some tweaking, I got the final stable vcore to around 1.55V. The fan got VERY loud however (48dba yikes!!) and I finally said screw it and put the stock fan on, cut some fan sinks and put them on the back ram and left the vmod on, but w/ a multimeter I got from radioshack, I set the vgpu back to 1.44V in 3D or in other words, the stock voltage. Previously, the most my core would do was 510 before locking up, but now it will do 527 at stock vcore w/ lower temps!! My load temps were 81C w/ stock cooler at stock clocks (490/1300), but now w/ just leaving the vmod on at at stock vcore I get load at 77-78C at 527/1400!!! Either its the vmod or its a good idea to burn-in your gpu cause this is awesome!!! CAnt wait for my phase!

I would love my G70 too.. If I had the money to buy one :(
Anyway, nice results. I say 620+ with phase.

OOO how do you like them apples for a currently stock hsf 7800gtx?

My guess is that your stock volt was 1.4v
Can you try a run at 526 and see how big the difference in 05 will be ?

sure thing, ill do that now. And no, my stock voltage was 1.44V cause I measured it before doing the vmods so I knew how much vcore I was adding over stock.

OK, I can get this to bench at 540/1400 at stock volts which i think is pretty good. Anyways, I am having seconds thoughts about the phase I was going to buy. Do you think it would be a better idea to get that or another 7800gtx? If I got another 7800gtx then both cards would be on air cause I wouldnt have anymore money!!! lol.

Here is the bench at 526/1400, there is a REALLY big difference:

Hmm my guess was 200-300 points, thats one huge drop!

I think 527 or so is another one of those cards sweet spots. Then +27 there after would be the spots or so....
Wouldn't be surprised if the 526 spiked the card down by being below the limit. The cards scores would be not much better than 500.
edit: The first link being dead though, I don't really know what the difference in scores was.

600 points.

Yeah, 600 is not too crazy with score fluctuations anyways maybe accounting for *some*. I think you just should OC 2 more MHz if possible. +1 MHz gets you the next sweet spot, and +1 just to be sure. Good core OC sweet spots are like 473, 500, and 527. I like one or two more for MHz good measure. You guys know what I mean right? I think it's the geometry clock or something only OC's in 27MHz chunks. Clocks in between say 500 and 527 would have scores much closer to the 500 MHz core score. Even at say 526. :D

Sry that I cant post two different scores at once, I am not a pro use hehe. But yea, The difference was really big, I mean i expected a drop but....geez 600 points was big.
