3500+ Venice the way to go for overclocking performance?

Worth the money?

Or could I get by with a 3000+ or 3200+ and save some cash?

thanks in advance,

All depends on the multi you need.
A 3000+ only gives you a 9x so you need high fsb ram to really use it, sorta rules out UTT stuff.
3200+ gives you 10x which is a good compromise, letting you run 270x10, or 300x9 depending on your ram.
What sort of ram are you looking at?

To be honest, I have no idea what you just said.

I'm trying to learn the terms but i'm having a hard time -_-

The only "Beginners" guide i've found is here (http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=28&threadid=1497607&enterthread=y)

The ram i've heard is good is the OCZ series.

Going with a 6800GT video card I think.

And a DFI Lan Party mobo

go for a 3200+ and OCZVX 4000 would be good. 6800 is also a good choice or an x800xl

I would like to buy 3200+ or 3500+ to get my BH5 and UTT to the max bandwidth :D

10 x 280 2-2-2-5 is insane :slobber:

Depends on what you do.
For gaming:

good motherboard that overclocks well DFI, ABit, Epox. from:
text (http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=29&threadid=1639727&enterthread=y)

Buy a 2800+ 3200+ cpu, they overclock the same. With a good motherboard the HTT wont' be the limiting factor.

Memory:
buy 2 (2x1gb kit) gigs memory ~$220-240 2-3-2-5. check out monarhcomputer.com, they had the ocz plat (timings above)for 229 after rebate. Even though these sticks only perform to about 225 mhz max overclock, they'll perform a lot better than expensive 2x512mb kits. Run your memory async (with a ratio divider = wont' run the same HTT as your cpu) On AMD 64, memory quality matters less, low timing is just as good as speed.

Graphics card. go www.fatwallet.com > forums > hot deals. Buy the best deal you can on the level of graphics card you want. Do not buy retail.

You can allways run 9x310 and use the 9/10 memory devider on the 3000+ giving 280 memory

Getting much more than 350x9 may be tricky on some boards, but over 300 is pretty easy with the HTT multiplyer reduced.
