Hey guys..i havent realy paid attention to comp hardware for the past year and i'm confused now when i look at video cards

when i stopped paying attention, nvidia cards were named by the FX name and the fx5950 was the big thing...atis were like 9800PRO and 9800XT

now i see stuff like Gtx? XT4300? can someone please explain to me the new naming system?

thanks in advance

6800
6600 GT
6600
6200

ATi:
X850 XT PE
X850 XT
X850 Pro
X850
X800 XT PE
X800 XT
X800 Pro
X800 SE
X800 GT
X700 Pro

X300 SE

If I left something feel free to add to it.

You left out the X800 (Better than the X800SE), the X550, and the X600. :)

you also left out X800 XL, and there will be an upcoming X800 GTO

a X850pro is not faster than a X800XT ;) neither is the X850

I'm assuming you are talking about the ATi cards.
X800 Pro/X850 Pro
12 pixel pipelines
6 vertex shaders
256MB GDDR3

X800GT
8 pixel pipelines
6(?) vertex shaders
256MB GDDR3
