hi all,
i am new in this forum and this is my first post.
i just bought a amd athlon 64 3200+ 939 venice core, thinking that i can hit 2.7 or 2.8ghz on air cooling,i going to use thermaltake beetle fan.i have a freind with same cpu and cpu cooler and his cpu idle temp. is 31-32c and full load 36-37.(ambient temp. 30c)(runing at stock speed).
i am just waiting for my motherboard gigabyte GA-K8NS PRO-939.
please can someone tell me if these three motherboards(gigabyte GA-K8NSNXP-939,GA-K8NS Ultra-939,GA-K8NS Pro-939)use the same bios and overclocking options?
well,i dont know if i can hit 540mhz on my ram. my ram use micron chips same like Crucial Ballistix PC3200.
please give me tips for my mobo to hit highest oc possible.

Unless youve got a sweet chip dont expect 2.9 on air. Those 3 boards probably wont have the same options or overclocking ability since it would be useless to sell 3 different boards at 3 diff prices that are all the same. Your ram will need a major amount of voltage to get to 270mhz if they are the same memory im thinking about they run at 2-2-2-5 timings. Something like utt.

so what can i do?
buy two new stick of ram?
or voltmod the mobo to get higher voltage for ram?

gigabyte boards are very stable but they are not the best for overclocking...
A DFI would be best but if you put great ram in and crank up the voltage... you should go far...

i would like to have dfi mobo, but the place where i live there is very dificult to get good stuff.i can“t get a ddr booster. the only thing that i have to is voltmod the mobo.i feel so sad,i cant push system to its limit.:(
tomorrow i will reciev the mobo(gigabyte ga-k8ns pro 939) and next day the cpu cooler(thermaltake beetle).i will try to find the ddr bosster.
what do you think about this mobo gigabyte ga-k8ns pro 939 nvidia nforce 3 ultra?

The thermaltake bettle is not very good. I would suggest a XP-90

my freind have this cooler and it is amezing.
he is using amd athlon 64 3200+(stock speed)
the room temp is 29-30c,
his cpu at idle is 32c and 36-37 full load.i dont think that this cooler is too bad.

That doesnt seem quite right. Even with an xp-90 on my +3200 at stock with the ambient temp at 24c my idle is about 30c and load at 42c. I know for sure that the xp-90 wastes a tt beetle. Its a good possibility that your friends temp sensor is bunk or your using the internet to load it up instead of an actual program.

he use easytune 4 and bios to check the temp.he is getting lower temp, may be because he is using dual fan for the beetle.i also dont understand why he is getting to lower temp. i opened his case side panel to touch the beetle cooper hitsink and it was cold :slobber: .
he i using thermaltake soprano case with side panel.
can someone tell me why he is getting to low temp?
