Upgrading CPU Problems

My friend is using 2000 Server, and we tried to put a 1800+ into his machine, He was previously using Duron 1ghz chip. It starts to boot, but then BSOD. :brick:

ANnone have some ideas? I heard there is a work-around for this, but cant find one on the web.

did you reset the bios?

LOL..not sure, but doubtful. Guess it could be something that small, but I thgought it was something more along the lines of the OS looking for a cpu fingerprint, and not seeing the same one as previous boots.

I will be more than happy to try resetting bios, using default vaules, then also Clear CMOS on board with jumper and post my results.
