View Full Version : Chilly1 cascade finetuning ?

when i try to reach -30 at stage 1 to active stage 2. Then it stops at -16~ .. Has never reached -17 at my hands..

It has been idleing for about 30 mins at -16,5-16.9 Never seen -17..

Dont know whats wrong, but i would really love if somebody with some experience response quickly!... ?

Yeah - but he is not online, and perhaps someone with a C1 cascade was able to answer me.. ;)

where are you reading the temperatures from?

you can try to activate the second stage and watch the pressure. if the pressure gets to a certain point between 150 and 300 psi, then levels off or starts to drop, it's probably working. if the pressure keeps climbing much over 300 then turn off the second stage as it's not condensing the gas.

Maybe the bead probe slipped out of the evaporator a little and isn't making good contact. :( If the probe wire is drilled into the evaporator, try pushing it in some more and see if the temps drop.

Something is wrong. Is this the first time you fired up? did you attach gauges?

also if you just got it and it was turned on its side a lot of the oil could be in the condensor or hx, that can cause problems till it migrates back to compressor

Be patient, wait till chilly talks to you !!! you dont want to ruin something.

I am not planning on ruining anything at all .. This is a heavy peace of machinery!.. And alot of exsplosive R1150!..

I havent tryed activating stage 2.. I did not have the balls to do it.. when the temps was no lower than -16/-17 C..

I will take the head of the FX again and try an "open" start to se whats going on.. And take the second probe to the evaporatorhead.. And then active stage 2..

I'm pretty sure the HX exit would actually drop after you turn the second stage on.
