I have had alot of condensation problems since I bougth my LS.

I am so lost at the moment.
Running my 570J@5 Ghz = 180 Watt and geeting condensation anyway :(

I have had my heaters at 25 % as I had USB problems with the ChillControlle.
My P5WD2 simply started to smoke when I had the USB plug from the
ChillControlle to the USB.

I did not thing there would be any problems this time as I goot Socket kit 775 in the 4. reversion with some fixes.

But It remains the same :(

Dont know if I need to use the dielectric grease from asetek, would the socket be damaged as it is S775????

And Asetek support refuces to take responsebility for frying my motherboard. I mean, It still works, but when it starts to smoke like a Cigaret INSTANTLY as I turn on the power. Something must be wrong with the ChillControlle.

I take The usb whire of and everything works perfect, I mounted it back on, It starts to smoke again.

they tested it and sent pictures from there test station, Everything is fine, "You tosted a heater output on the ChillControll but I fixed it."

Hmmmm, okay.

I try again the day I geet it back. Pssssssssss and smoke again.

I dident care as I was running 5 ghz again.

But after my problems and Numerus mails from them they have stated that they are not responsible for the compatability with a motherboard.

Now WHAT TO DO????? ::::::::::::::::::::::::(((((((((((((((((((((((

if i where you i would deffinetely use the dielectric grease.

Yes I also want to, But will the computer work with it in the socket??

It is Socket 775 and it is not the same as with socket 478 where you have pins :(
So I dont know ????

if you isulate properly around the socket you don't need grease.

Opp used his cascade severall hours and he didn't use grease ever

Several hours isn't enough to come to that conclusion...

If I were you I'd put the dielectric grease in the socket and make sure it got into the holes, on the back too and around the socket as well if you plan to use it 24/7 for months on end. Thats how I've been using mine with the heaters disconnected to get the temps as low as possbile (you have to put insulation on the outside of the clamshell if you do this BTW, some more insulation on the suction doesn't hurt either!!!) for almost a year straight now, no condensation issues at all.

But are we talking about socket S775 since you say in the holes?`????

Okay great :D

I was just worried if it could keep contact when there where grease betwean the cpu and the "pins"

Yes it will push it out all over the socket and fill in all the little hole's around it...also smear some around the socket on the outside..now go and overclock :)

I suggest you use grease. I mean, why not?

The grease will prevent corrosian on the pins in the socket, and it will sealing.

I always use grease. I have done a bad job insulating a few times (in a hurry you know.. just got a new chip etc) and its has been a fair amount of water around the CPU, but nothing ever broke. I presume thats because of the grease. Water doesn´t hurt when it never comes in contact with the pins and components :p:

I've had condensation really bad before but only a AGP mosfet got hurt! :D I had water in the socket too, but all was well, because I was using DIELECTRIC GREASE *hint hint*.
