If you want more about the Ati Nvidia war, then go to the first page of the review.
I have chosen to start at the REVIEW (http://www.pureoverclock.com/article16-2.html) itself.

I'm finding my self looking more at 23 monitors (Sony, Apple) than the cards. And it always happens when i'm checking the cards, i suddenly find my self at the monitor section.

I'd like to see how the 7800 would do at ~550MHz like the Ultra version will probably be clocked at.

Hl2 is not what i would call a heavy graphics game...rather average..
i want to see some farCry benches on those settings :D

It does 41 FPS in Far Cry, with high settings 4xAA in 2048x1536. The X850XTPE does 18 FPS.

NVidia pretty much doubles ati in EVERY game at that insane rez, the higher the rez, the farther these cards push away from the last generation...Thing is, how many of us can actually run that rez?

The answer is the Hierarchical Z buffer. The Tech Report ran an article on it once, and it basically says that previous gen graphics cards were only optimized for up to 2 megapixel resolutions, where as the G70 was optimized for up to 3 megapixels. It all has to do with its ROP (not really anything to do with shader or texture performance).

and some guys here saying that the 7800gtx bring no perfomance increase.

as i said like 1000 times they dont if you play 1024x768 to see the true power of these babies you have to crank the rez of your monitor
