I have 2x256mb Corsair Twinx 3200C2PT v4.2 and I'm having several problems with my IC7 Max3.
My processor is a Northwood 2.6 512Kb 800mhz @ 3.3 254mhz 5:4 so my ram is working at 203mhz 2.5-3-3-6
The problem is that I can't get more mhz from my rams, It boot's at 254 1:1 but it is impossible to get it stable at any voltage.
Is there any way I can get them to work at 1:1 stable? I know they work on a A64+NF4 system at 270+mhz.
Best Regards

I thought MAX3's had issues with voltages over 2.9? The VTT isn't half the VDIMM so it's always unstable past that. Did you get your board VTT modded? Other than that, I can't really think of anything else.
P.S. Your avatar is really distracting :D

Have you fooled around with the timings any just to see what's what? I'm curious about that as I am getting ready to fire up one of those boards I just bought used for a friend....
@dark79....hey those are my nieces ....lol

I had a MAX3, but replaced it with an Epox 4PDA2+ instead. It's i865, but it handled overclocks a lot better. Right now I have my 2.4 running at 2.8 + PAT with RAM running 1:1 at 2-3-2-5 with room to go higher. My MAX3 crapped out before even getting that high with the same equipment.

Thanks for your answers.
I have not modded my VTT, and the timmings are 2.5-3-3-6; tighter timings, like CAS 2, result in an unstable system.
I thought the MAX3 was the best S478 board, maybe an IS7 would be better for my system.
Also, do you think I have any hope with this memory? I really don care about tigh timings, I just want to get 254mhz 1:1

have you thought about your cpu maxing out at 254?
i have a max3 also, my cpu tops out @ 267. I can get into desktop 260 1:1
Oh yah Tccx chips suck with intel so that could be one thing.
If your ram can do 270 1:1 on your amd then it looks like youhit the max on your cpu

But why I can get it to work at 254mhz 1:1?
Chipset problem?

As stated earlier, its partly your mobo's fault with its crappy Vdimm reg ( you would be better off buying an IC-7) and the fact that TCCx works better with A64/nVidia chipsets
What Vdimm are you using ?? maybe try maxing it out :)

I have the same sticks here on a gigabyte ga-8ik1100, 875p. I can get to 245 2-3-3-6 @ 2,7 v. Any higher my processor sucks. Tried an other bios already?
Please list how u have got your bios set up as ...

I have used the 3/3.1/3.2 vdimm options on my Max 3 and they work fine (unless of course you have a modded board, then 2.8 is the highest option you should use). It's not unstable at all.
Right, all ur settings look right ....
set bootstrap to the cpus bus,
I had some twinex and my reulsts werent great.
try to increase the latancey
ie 3 3 3 5 or sumat similar.
as for the vtt you can mod the mobo
keep the vdimm at 2.8,
But i never had probalms with running it at 3.0v

its probably just because tccwhatever sucks butt on intel. a friend of mine recently bought some gskill pc4800, even though he has intel also. it DOES run pretty good, but not even close to what its rated for. with my max3 and the newest BIOS, i can change my multi from 17 to 14. so knowing that my cpu can run stable as crap at 4 ghz, i figured wed be able to get 280+ out of his sticks in my machine. nothing doing. we got 270, and was able to do a sandra once. after that, i couldnt get it to get into windows again. and the sandra wasnt any better than my best score at 260 with the ram in my sig.
im thinkin you could be cpu limited, or maybe thats all the rams gonna do on the intel chipset. its no real secret that amds memory controller is a lot better than intel.
I dont think its the memory controller, rather its just the branding of memory used.
