Today I got my new ram, 2x512 MB. Put it in with my old ram, 2x256 on Gigabyte GA-8IK1100, Intel 875P and running dual channel. CPUZ reports PAT is disabled. Is this normal?

Not on the Epox 4PDA2+Ver.2 mobo as long as you run 1:1 with mem on max you get all the PAT your heart desires. Yes, even with 4 sticks. At what ever speed you can achieve. Not sure why it gets disabled on other boards. Can I assume it was set for PAT when you installed the extra mem? My G.Skill pc4400le will go up to 271 fsb running 1:1. When I install 4 sticks I run at 260 fsb with the mem running on the 1:1 for a DDR of 520 with Pat enabled. That's all it will do tho' without throwing more volts at it. I have a 120mm fan blowing over my mem and Northbridge and have to use 3.1v to get the mem to run stable at that speed. The mem is cool to the touch!!
Could the mis-matched mem modules have something to do with it??

Can I assume it was set for PAT when you installed the extra mem? ... Could the mis-matched mem modules have something to do with it??I can't enable or disable PAT in the bios, but with 2 sticks PAT is enabled, till i thought 215 mhz fsb. After that, PAT is disabled, but i can enable it with TW865.
The different module size is possible. I will get some other 512 MB sticks to test.

Okay, tested it with 4x 512MB. CPU-Z gives PAT enabled, but ctiaw still says PAT mode 0; reserved. That's the same I get with 2x512 + 2x256.
With just 2x512 ctiaw says PAT mode 1; fully enabled.
