Hey everyone, I think that black clouds are following me around. I was running my new ic7-g (3rd frickin one) under phase with no problems. I changed the bios to the newest one (I think they may be the same) and now it doesnt like anything below 0c. All the cpu temp things are disabled. Any ideas?

i had my Ic7 in chillbox under at max -33c never had any issues booting up. It was very stable too. just flash to the older bios then.

The only issues i can remmber whilst doing - temps is that the mobo didnt display correctly temps .... it dissplayed (255c = -5)

How have u mounted the head on the socket ?

Becuase with one of my ic7's if the head was on 2 tight around the socket it would cause crashing / no post.

oonly thing i can think of is PCB flex.

Ok the evap is using a chilly1 kit. Using 2x256 mushkin bh5 a 9600xt and 2.4a. If I boot it with the phase chnage unit off (still mounted just off) it boots and works fine. Once I turn the unit on the pc freezes at around 3c in the bios. I have opened up the health monitor and watched the temp drop once it hit around 3c it just froze :( . is there a way to go back to my original bios?

Hmm .. have u checked for condenstation in the socket ?

I had a 2.4a with a mach 2 and it did 3.6 gig stock volts, and 4.3 gig @ 1.5 and went a little higher @ 1.6

When it freezes are u overclocking ? or stock ?
If you have a the orginal bios saved then you could flash back
t he bios

what bios version is it ?

its stock, if there was condensation it prolly wouldnt boot period not only when the unit is cold. I think the bios is shutting it off at that temp or somthing

Hve u cleared the CMOS ...... yet ?
what version of the bios was orginally supplied with the board

I sense a need for di-electric grease. My pm 745 would boot fine at around -15C but after a few minutes will show down and will get really unstable if i boot it up (no insulation), 'twas the fault of condensation in the pins.

Thats what i think he needs grease.
Or the head is 2 tight around the socket.

sorry guys it isnt making sense seing as it works perfectly at higher temps... wouldnt the condensation still be there? it doesnt just vanish when you pass 3c~. I flashed it to bios 21 with all the tags and it was working at around -10c in the bios. then it crashed. I think I may be onto something.

Have u tried to create more heat out put ?

dont think thatll raise the temp of this system too much.....

man thats like allot of people telling you about the DI grease. Why wont you just try it. It does not have to be messy at all. Just put a litle bit with a brush on cpu pins. You problems just might dissapear............ :fact:

well I found the problem. It was the 2.4a I was using. Iam running a 2.8c now and everything is running fine. Btw I dont use greese and still havnt run into any problems b/c of it ;)
