the documents provided by Intel in the context of the IDF becomes for the enterprise of the coming processors manufactured in 65 nm „Presler“ (dual core Pentium D) and „Cedar Mill“ (single core Pentium 4) no new chipset necessarily.
With a simple BIOS update this CPUs will have to be operated also on the current Desktop Chipsaetzen i945 (Lakeport) and i955X (Glenwood).

IMO at that time Intel haven`t got a clue that they should rush dual-core to copmete with AMD (sort of). And 925 couldn`t possible make enough bandwidth for PD.

This has been known for months. In the release notes of the P5WD2 they have had Presler and Cedar Mill listed for awhile now. Technically if you could get one today it would work on the P5WD2 just fine.

I spent this morning when I wasn't in class trying to make sence of what Intels going to do in the upcoming months and all I know is that my head hurts and they have more code names for CPUs than I have classes per week.

Maybe i'll understand when it comes out and maybe i'll even be able to afford one.
