Folks, I've tried yesterday to reach 4.1GHz with my P4 640@257fsb. I'm stable @ 250fsb , 1,40v.

With 1.45v in bios AI Booster reports 1,51v and when I full load the system (rthdribl v.1.2 + Prime95) I get vdrops and fsb drops causing after 1 or 2 min. a system reboot !!

My specs are in my sig, with only the bios being now the unofficial 0512.
I've also tried with 0509.

The mem's are @DDR400 so they aren't the cause.

I've got FSB, MCH and ICH voltages to Auto.

C1E control , Thermal Control and SpeedSteep Disabled.

Hiper Path 3 and DRAM Throttling Disabled.

Can some one help me ?

Thanks.

I think AI Boster is rather buggy. I'm not sure I would take those reading with a slight grain of salt.

I don't think you will be able to hold a 4.1 with Vcore on Auto. It prolly needs to be up around 1.5~1.55v

I'm not in Auto on vcore ....

With 1.45v in bios AI Booster reports 1,51v and when I full load the system (rthdribl v.1.2 + Prime95) I get vdrops and fsb drops causing after 1 or 2 min. a system reboot !!

OK well 1.45v is prolly not enough either.

could you explain fsb drop? never heard of it or seen it. my board always overvolts .05v when idle, and is pretty near spot on when under load (that's using aibooster for readings.)

AI Booster is buggy as a bat's ear. How much does it drop while watching CPUz? Anyways, that's not why you are having pbs. It's just annoying to see while you are running because you expect to see consistant numbers in those monitoring proggies. But if you want to hold 4.1+ OC, it will take more voltage. If your proc is up to it. Some aren't. And you need excellent cpu cooling to get up that high.
