I just recieved an x800xt pe from ATI a few days ago. Now the card works fairly good at stock settings but sometimes I notice some issues like:

- Upon bootup, when I hit delete to enter the bios the screen goes blank. I know the computer didn't crash because I can press esc to exit the bios and the computer will reboot. It can take 2-3 tries before I can enter the bios and get an image on the screen.

- Sometimes I see some slight checkerboarding on the screen at stock speeds. Almost always when overclocked. Computer will crash soon after checkerboarding occurs.

According to software readings the card is running at about 64-65c full load on stock cooling.

Computer Specs:

Athlon XP-m 2500 @ 200x12.5 @ 1.8v
Abit NF7 - stock
BBA x800xt pe - stock
KHX3200 bh-5 @ 2-2-2-6
Fortron 530w psu

that sounds a little warm to me. could be case cooling. I have a similar setup with a x800xt and my card is about 50-55° under load with stock cooling. Doesn't really sound like a heat issue though.

The blank screens are getting annoying. Makes it very hard to get into the bios and do things. I'm thinking an RMA is the cure.

RMA and if that dosen't work raise some hell with ati.

I would RMA if I were you. My 2nd rig has a 9700pro in it (until tonight... 6800LE came in the mail), and when I hit delete there is a delay until I get into the BIOS... dunno what that's about.

It may not be the card. If and when you get into bios, try to play with the INIT DISPLAY FIRST category... maybe if you change it from PCI to AGP or something it may make a difference... I may be wrong, but it's worth a shot.

Well the thing is, I have no issues whatsoever with my 9500 card. Everything is completely smooth and no issues running stock. It isn't like a delay to get into the bios, the screen is just blank. I've also noticed sometimes the screen goes blank at other points during bootup but comes back. This just started happening after installing the x800xt.

The card hits a wall really fast when overclocking as well. Right about 545 on the core and atiTool will find artifacts and lockup.

Edit: Decided best way is to just RMA the card.

Maybe your card is overheating... did you check that out?

My 9700pro used to overheat, even though I didn't know the temp I assumed it did. I used to get random reboots on my PC. When I changed the heatsink on it everything went smooth.
