I need to know what is the Max bios Vcore option when Prescott cpu is on the P4C800E-Deluxe.
thanks

not sure what your saying but in the bios you can go up to 1.9 something
and for prescott dont run more than 1.55vcore

I know when northwood is installed you got in bios up to 1.8 or 1.9 Vcore
but i need to know when a Prescott CPU is installed which is the Maximun Vcore you can set in the bios on Asus P4C800E -Deluxe.

1.6 vcore.

it shows me up to 1.9v vcore, bios 1023.

Isn't why so many people were frying their Northwood's? because of high voltage core? To me the MAX I'll use for V.Core will be 1.500. Even though I can go upto 1.7 in this board. Sure, we're not talking LGA 6 series CPUs but still Voltage is voltage and 1.55 and above seems too risky for any CPU, in my opinion that is.

Hi,....
1.9v.... but with a Prescott CPU installed?
THanks.

(Cos my IC7-G has 1.77 maximun, i am using 1.58 Vcore on my 3.2E
But can only reach 100% stable 262 FSB 1:1 4.2Ghz -55ºC R404a
My memories are good enough to go like 280)

I know that IC7 series are not very good for such high speed FSB
and P4c800 does... so i will change the mobo.
But i would like to know what is the maximun Vcore you can set in the bios , cos if the maximun is 1.6v mmm dono, cos may be i will need more Vcore.
I will do the Droop mod, Vagp Mod and Vdimm Mod to the Asus, but i will need like 1,6+ or 1,7 Vcore,
So if someone has a Prescott & P4C800E Deluxe, please check your max bios Vcore aviable option and post it.. and bios version too .
thanks guys

martinakerman, Asus P4C800E has a limit on Vcore voltage with Prescott CPUs. The CPU itself can handle higher than 1.6v but the board doesn't allow it even though BIOS menu gives you upto 1.9v. Besides.. 1.6v is quite plenty for prescott chips anyway considering how much wattage it takes and how much heat they generate, it'll be bakey hot.

For Northwood chips, you can certainly go higher voltage.

But i think that you have the 1.9V option when a Northwood is installed.
If a Prescott is installed, i am not sure, you got less , like 1.6V
For this reason i am asking, specially to people with lastest bios

"You don't need the Vcore drop because you have a Northwood and this mobo is able to give to Northwood as many Volts as you want, from bios.
The problem is with prescotts....the mobo can't give more than 1,6 volts from bios!" http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=56837&page=2&pp=25

Core voltage isnt much of an issue
Heat is ....
If its running 2 hot it will die

-60 on phase change i guessing
is that a mach 2 or GT or a similar device ?

Or is it a home made device, and how accurate are thos temps ?

Yes, its a Prometeia
so.. high temps are not a problem,
i will need 1.6+ 1,7 Vcore.

When I run over 1.7v on prescott cpus, I usually run into more trouble from mosfet and board trace heating than the heat of the cpus. Good watercooling can keep the prescotts down to a safe level at 1.75v, but most boards will need airflow over the power regulation.

1.7 > 1.8 i guess :D

i manage to get 270FSB stable from my abit ic7.. with the ic7-g should get the same more or less.. did you set the NB STRAP to 800FSB?

I think 1.6v is the maximum voltage on prescott with th soc-478 p4c800. If you vmod the board and put heatsink on the mofset + good airflow, 1,7v should be reasonable.

I had a 530j @ 1.6v air on a my old AS8. Now @ 1.475v 4.2ghz (P4 640) with a vdroop. It depend how your cpu like volts :D

Good luck with the P4C800...the best board i've owned...certainly the best Asus mobo ever made :)

ive had 1.61 thru mine before. my buddies p5p800 dlx or whatever it is goes up to 1.95 Vcore with his 3.2 Prescott installed in it....

The max vcore is 1.6 volts with a prescott and a P4C800-e

The system will not post over that unless you have a vcore mod done to the board.

Ive also never had a problem with my ic7 max 3 and ic7 ....

Ive done 280 1:1
and 299 5:4

Also the ic7 series doesnt dropp as much ... and the p4p / p4c800 mobos.

Its better to do the dropp mod on thos board..

Yeah, thats what i thought.... so i will may need the vcore mod, i guess.

in prescott's, esp the 478 versions, you have a much greater chance to fry the mosfets then the cpu. usually if you feed alot of voltage, the mobo dies, not the cpu. i would say 1.5 on air max, 1.55 on water max, and 1.6 on vapo. always sink your mosfets. and get active cooling over them
