Hi,i am looking for some help here.I can t figure out why bf2 wont load using dvi,yet loads using d-sub 15 pin connect?
I have tried what i can think of like changing resolutions,+ refresh rate, but it seems to make no difference.Since the picture quality is better using dvi i really wanna figure out why.The same game loads with a different lcd using dvi..
Is anyone else using this combo and it works?Did you have to do anything special?thx for input:)

What are your specs?
Are your drivers up to date?
Try unistalling BF2 (dont worry about losing anything as it is all related to you user ID anyway) uninstall your video drivers, run driver cleaner to get rid of their remains, then reinstall the drivers and then BF2.
Couldn't get it to load when I switched from crt to a dell 2405.

If you were using a CRT and changed to a LCD (Like me, by the way)...the best thing to do is deleting the video config files. Just take a look into your profile's folder, and erase that file. Enter again, and reconfigure your video card.

ya.i have the drivers for the monitor in.Much as i hate to reinstall the game(again),i guess its goin that way.my previous monitor was also an lcd(benq 19" fp931).The video config files? If your talking about the ones in the my documents>bf2>cache folder,i also tried ridding those and it still wouldnt load.I have nothing forcing refresh rate.
note:the game tries to load, screen goes black, blinks a couple times and back to desktop.

sorry for the long delay notoriousformula.been busy sorting everything to xp64 as sole os.Well, basically,i reinstalled game from scratch WHILE using dvi connection and before any patching or adjustments including command line resolution changes, loaded the game.Since it worked after that,i was even afraid to install the dell driver this time since i had it uninstalled from previous troubleshooting.I did thereafter, finish up with tweaks and whatnot,.
Since i cant tell a bit of difference in picture quality without the driver,im just leaving it alone because it works:D

Thanks for replying back Bandit1 :).. I don't wanna re-install game as i have the BF-2 CD Version(hate changing cds  ).. Anyways I think modding the "video.con" in My Document/BF-2 folder should work..I'm goin to try it tonight and will post back.
