View Full Version : Need help fast! Dualchannel on DFI wont work

Ok, My system will only boot if it is 1 memory module in slot 3 or 4. I get 3 lights
if I try 1+3 or 2+4 (no boot) Both modules are working. I have tried several BIOS'es also, same problem with all of them.
system is in my signature.
I've tried 2T and all settings on auto. Right now I'm running 1 stick @ 255 2-2-2-7 with 3,3v, 24/7 stable. but 512mb is to little for gaming :mad:
You tried booting with 1 stick in upper orange slot, shut down, dont take power off sys, second one in other slot and boot ? Helped me a few times in the past.
Boot with 1 stick in slot 2 (3 slot from S939)
Use WinFlash to flash your BIOS to latest offician DFI BIOS

One of the DFI's I got had the same problem and the only solution was: RMA...

oh man lol, I mean it will only boot with one stick in the upper orange slot, and the upper yellow slot. I have tried all these BIOS'es: 3.10, 3.10p, 6.23-2. 6.23-1. 510-2. 5.10-2FIX. It will NOT boot with 2 sticks, no way.
Right now I'm running BIOS 5.10-2

Thats really weird. It seems like you know what you're doing, so all I can suggest is a RMA. :( [of the board i suppose]

Had one of the same thing last week, RMAed and now the machine works great.

Before RMA it, try to set the DRAM Drive Stength to 3, and DRAM Data Drive Strength to 2.
I have a pair G.Skill 1GBGH, my DFI U-D will not boot successfully if the DRAM Drive Strenght is higher than 3.
