i currently have a SLI-DR i love the bios options galore. but it has some issues like when on for long periods of times and i restart the fans (cpu, rear, chipset) will just turn off and it will boot with them not even running. so i hate having to look in my case everytime to make sure they are spinning, and once and a while it boots but forgets to start up the HDDs.

So i was thinking about rmaing it and getting a new revision of the SLI-DR or if i goto the A8N-SLI Deluxe cause i have never had an issue with my ASUS Boards. but i am wondering if 3v to teh DDR and 1.75v (i think it maxs at) is good enough for my 3700+ Sandy (week 0526) and my TCC5, to take it up, i will be getting a chilled water system soon also about -20C coolant.

I'd definitely get the DFI board, they're the best nF4 boards available. ASUS makes good P4 boards but they're not what you want for S939.

Some rams might not perform advertised timing on asus mobo.
Fairly decent for daily use but not for pushing it oc.

go with the asus, better stability and of course reliability

asus boards also oc pretty decently.

i was thinking because i am having problems with this board already, i feel like i am never gonna be able to just turn it on and it work perfect without making sure fans are coming on, and i noticed shamino uses the A8N-SLI Prem

lol.. if you can think carefully... asus is the only option for him...
He uses triple cascade on cpu/2 gpus.
Do you think cascade will fit through tiny DFI space between pci-e slots?
Check cpu-z data base he did use dfi for all cpu OCing records.
Asus has a large gap between pci slots, DFI don't but that will be fixed
since new rivision is coming out.

A8N SLi Preium is a crap in compare to DFI LP

the only worthy competition to the DFI boards, is the Abit SLI board... but even that one, so far, is a distant second.

Asus, really hasn't ever made a Overclockers board, for AMD.

i much rather have a premium than dfi lp. For your info dfi is crap look at the crap load of dead boards and problems.

I got an A8N SLI Premium, a 4400+ and 4 sticks of single sided 1GB patriot memory. I assembled it and had Window64 loaded in an hour. No jumpers to set and it came with a good manual. It came up with 3.8 of the 4GB thanks to the memory reallocation the Asus board supports. ( not available in the DFI ). Its been running 24 hours a day for the last week. Not one lockup or BSOD. I even used the stock heatsink. 30C idle, 42C at 100% load on both processors. I bought an XP90C, but the fins are the wrong direction to blow air over the chipset heatpipe fins and i don't need the extra cooling.

I know this is a forum for extreme overclockers but many people searching for information read these forums. They have no plan to overclock, they just want info on good parts. The A8N SLI Premium is a good choice for stock applications.

Call it a piece of crap if it makes you feel better. The only motherboard that has a sticky in this forum for all the problems is the DFI.

well my old asus took my 2000+ past 2.3Ghz on air.

the lanparty that i bought is very full featured and i love the bios, and i will be taking this 3700+ and 7800 to the xtreme when my water chiller comes in, but i have had a few probelms with it, and dont understand why they dont have a phone number for support, and give ya a manual that says insert chip, memory, this is for this this is for this kind of manual, dont explain any bios settings at all.

I think that DFI Lanparty SLI-D is definitely the one you should buy. It's one of the best motherboards for s939 and it is a paradise for overclockers. Even the layout is better. That DFi will shine with a Revoltec CCD in my new system.

For example with the latest BIOS 1007.02 ASUS can't do Business Winstone without lockups, hard one! And from time to time after reset you'll get CMOS errors...
DFI is not perfect (as a matterof fact there are no perfect nF4 mobo), but it is better then Premium!

This is all BS: You clearly have no experience with the board and just don't know what you're talking 'bout. Come back with verifiable facts or quit spewing this crap!

should I be able to overclock my 3000+ 0517 @ 300x9 like my DFI nF4 do ?
My actual DFI nf4 Ultra-D killed my 3 HDD this week :(
300fsb 2.5-4-3-5-1T possible with this board ?

Is there a chance to run my cpu @ 2.7ghz...I mean 9x300 2.5-4-3-7 like my dfi do ?

300fsb TCCD 1:1 1T ?

It is up to you to trust me or not to. I have no reason to tell a lie! And I can say one more time: in compare to the DFI this board is a crap, and most of all I heat about Premium is that mobo is O/C-ing video card, and if you have, for example Gigabyte HP cooled 6800GT, you'll be in a trouble, 'cos board rise freq of card so high that you're unable to downclock it with coolbits, or any other tweaker! You simply do not have enough time 'cos after a couple seconds card is becoming complitely unstable!
And its BIOS settings are just misery in comparison to DFI LP

The only reason i did not make the move to NF4 is because the "best board" for s939 became the most bugous one. I say wait a little for the second revision of the DFI board than compare with the Grouper and purchase.

Well, i own an asus A8n sli, and a dfi sli-dr, and guess what....i only use the DFI for benching. I got a average CPU, and it does just as well on the asus as it did on the DFI...with the same volts, of course. And that's whyt i have the DFI...becasue of the extra voltage.

my DFI is a real pos...not reliable (I must a least say it's a good overclocking board)
kill my os (killed 2 HDD too)

I bought the Asus with stability in mind (overclocking too :D )

We should make a movie.

"Something terrible has happened in the DFI lab. They tried to mutate some monster which is on the loose... An expert team of hardware enthusiast was forcibly picked to fix the mess. Many innocent lives are lost (hdds, cpus, and videocards). Will they succeed with the new revision? No one knows, hope is the last resort."
