Having trouble with Mushkin HP 2x1GB, which I just received. It came with silver heatspreaders and black pcb, so it must be a new batch. I can get it going @ stock, and @ ~220-225MHz by dropping cas to 2.5. However, my cpu tops out 2800, so I would really like to get it going @ 255 or 233MHz. I suspect my ram timings are off. Simply dropping cas to 3 and other timings to 3-3-8 or such doesn't work @ 233MHz (memtest errors). My motherboard is Abit AN8 SLI, which has a load of ram timing settings. The way to set them is to flip through AUTO-SPD-MANUAL mode. Upon switching from AUTO to SPD, actual timing number appear visible (but not editable), then flipping to MANUL allows me to change them. The default SPD settings are therefore my starting point:
tcl(2)-trcd(3)-trp(2)-tras(6)
trc(11)
trfc(24)
trrd(2)
twr(3)
twtr(2)
trtw(3)
Burst length(4)
Command rate(1)

I would appreciate if someone could post working timings for 233 or 255MHz.
Thanks.

try these timings (in the order you presented them):

3-3-3-10
12, 20
3, 3, 3, 3
4, 1

The main thing to do is set cas, trcd, trp and tras to 3-3-3-x (I like 10, 8 is probably just as stable and slightly faster though) and to set all the timings between trrd and trtw to 3, leaving the rest the same (although trfc at 24 is very high).

No go at suggested settings (twtr was set at maximum of 2).

There's another setting called MTRR mapping mode (default = continuous, or discrete).
Can this do anything?

trtw 4 maybe

voltage is very sensitive in these stix some like low some like high

try 3-3-3-8
auto for others
2.6v
go up slightly from there
try 230mhz
then memtest up slowly in 1-3mhz incriments

hi I have an DFI SLI-DR Expert with an opty 144 and a pair of Mushkin HP3200 2-3-2-6 with infineon BE-5 (blue heat spreader, new model, like on their site http://www.mushkin.com/doc/products/memory_detail.asp?ID=193, the PCB is black).
Could you please help me improve the frequency for those mem sticks? Right now i'm running with 150 divier. Cand i get this mmory to 255Mhz? (166 divider).

Thanks in advance.

not sure
the memory is screened/binned for 3200 speeds
