I have a gig of the crucial balistix 3200 and can push each stick to 245 fsb 2.5-2-2-7 2.7V in single channle and then my board craps out (in the process of Vmodding the chipset). I know that you can't run as fast dual channle as you can single but right now I cant get more than 225fsb (same timeings at either 2.7 or 2.8) stable. Wierd thing is they can run all day long at 240fsb in memtest and memtest plus when I loop test 5 (I believe this is the one people use for stability checking of memory, 64 move block moves) but it fails test 7.

Is it my motherboard that cant do it? Like I said I will be vmodding the northbridge and watercooling it here in the next week or two, but should i really expect anything to improve?

If that does not help how much voltage can these things take? I already had to RMA one of the sticks twice because it would error 1000+ times at lower than stock and at stock settings, but I was running them at 2.9 and the new ones have not been over 2.8V. I guess im used to my old bh5 (RIP) and old die revision TCCD (voltage did't help it but it never craped out even at 3.5V  )

Basically Im tired of seeing every one else running 250+ fsb with nice timings and I cant get more than 225? I don't really feel like killing another stick with to much voltage so I figured I would ask fist in stead of frying them and then crying :slap:

Oh yeah here is the rig.
NF7-S v2
2400+ 35w mobile @ 24XX
2x512 Crucial Ballistix 3200
9800pro
BIX 120.3

DD TDX (the three hose one)
DD maze4 gpu block
DD z-chip block
Mantarays xt bios (forgot the specific one though)

Thanks in Advance

Are you sure that the NF7 isn't the problem? Have you run any other 512MB sticks at much over 235 or so?

The nForce2 chipset has a history of issues with 512MB sticks unless CPC is disabled. The NF7's default setting is enabled and cannot be changed unless you use one of the modded BIOS.

totally agree with ^^ try a modded bios with cpc off "Merlin's D-27 CPC OFF"
maybe some nforce2 experts might suggest a better one .

cpc is off. Yeah I have had 2 256 stixs doing 240 befor they died so I don't think its the board but I will wait to see how the mod helps maybe the 512s dont go as well

NF2 isn't the best platform for ballistix...works well on later NF and intel is fine too... 240 each stick is pretty low tbh...
