Just got me a VP191b 8ms and I am wondering what the best software is for 1: calibrating the colours etc and 2: testing for dead pixels

I've also noticed the right hand side of the monitor just below middle seems to be darker than the rest like the backlight isnt quite reaching there as well or something, I assume this is not normal!

*edit* hmmm the dark patch seems to have faded a fair bit now ive had the monitor on for a couple of hours, its still there slightly but not as bad

The cheapest hardware monitor calibrator u can get would probably be this one

For software i would just use adobe gamma, or do a google for one most are free.

Heres a little article on finding dead pixels i googled up
