I am burning in some more BH-5 at the moment, I am using Memtest-x86+ Test #5 for the job. I have done 5 passes so far at 230 @ 2-2-2-5 @ 3.2v and it has had no errors yet, but add 7MHz to that, and I get ~52 errors per pass. This is on some "never burnt in" BH-5 I am doing this with. Does this sound about right, or is something wrong?

Update! 237 @ 2-2-2-5 @ 3.2v, After 16 passes test 5, 2229 errors, about right for non-burnt in RAM? I know that some RAM has a sweet spot, and it sucks until it hits it, but I am trying to keep it at 3.2v for now, I'm not doing anything xtreme yet, 240 is considered stock by me haha!

Try lowering the frequency to 235 Mhz-is better to get no more than 5 errors per pass.50+ errors is too much

Ok, first pass gave me a whole 16 errors..... is that bad?

Find a speed that doesn't give errors. Then starve it for vdimm (bump down vdimm for every 20+ pass) untill it starts errors... Then return to original vdimm and push upwards untill it starts errors. Then starve it downwards...

Thats how mine did the workout.

Hmm, I can't give it more than 3.2 right now cause my vdimm mod ain't playin' nicely (I'll fix it when I can). 235 @ 2-2-2-5 @ 3.2 = 4 - 8 errors per pass (test 5). Is that fine for burnin? and roughly how long should this take before I see any gain?

Update! Pass #9 and 12 errors. How can it burn in this quick, and at only 3.2v?! So goddamn strange.

i have had a 512mbx2 kit of ocz gold "new" bh5 pc3200 for a week or 2. i started burn-in at 235mhz 3.2v 2/2/2/7 doing memtest test #5 loops. the first pass had a couple hundred errors, but by pass 21 it was down to 0 errors. burns in pretty fast. maxed out @ 237mhz at that vdimm and timings but my ultra-d is due back from rma on friday and i will try @ 3.4 or 3.5v vdimm. good luck with yours.

very truly yours,

25 passes, 36 errors so far. I'll keep it running all day. I need to get my vdimm mod fixed so I can pump 3.8v into it.

I got a strange thing going on with my "oldskool" BH5 (2x512MB Kingston HyperX PC3200)
After a while I get 40+ passes in test #5 without any errors after that a pas with more than 10 errors. After that pass I get again 40+passes error-free.

What does that mean?
It can't be because of TOO hot, cos after the error run, I get errorfree runs.

Please take a look at the 2 screenies :)

That per 40passes error-free issue

Raise your voltage!

Was that at me? I can't raise voltage now until I get this mod working again. Also, it seems that my 3.3v rail is undervolting, musta reversed the pot too far on my PSU. My vdimm is in fact 3.1. I'll find a screwdriver and raise 3.3v soon.

You'll definately need more than 3.1vdimm to get 240 2-2-2-5 on 875.

Well look if it isn't Mr. Obvious.

Have you tried swapping the sticks in different bank-combinations?
Somehow it helped with my mushkin Level2 BH6. I got in one combo error-free on 240 @3.1V :)

Haven't tested is with my kingston sticks. Test #5 takes sooo long with 1gig of ram.

I suppose I could first try swapping the sticks around, then maybe try different combinations. I'll do it when I have lots of spare time though.

My new school BH-5 runs ~248 in Test #5 but errors @ 245 in test #6

Is test #6 streesing the memory more than test #5 ?
