Could you also post your Everest read and Lat ???

Iam looking to upgrade to 2GB from my OCZ 3700EB and it does 7300ish and 41 ns just wondering how the 2GB compares

after upgrading to a X2 4400+ my everest dropped to 6600ish and 48 ns

Thanks

If your looking for low latency, you're barking up the wrong tree. 2x1GB configs in A64 are for high clocks and mediocre latencies. 2-2-2 timings, or even 3-2-2 like your EB won't be obtainable with these.

you can get the low lantency, just not the high clocks. best atm for latency is 2 3 2 5, ocz, mushkin and patriot offer these, don't expect to do more than 216-230 fsb on those timings though.

The top 7 look like they should fly at 3-3-3-8 with those high speeds

3-3-3-8 @ 600mhz should score about 37-38ns in everest i think with decent cpu clock. is that not low latency enough???

latency is also determined by frequency and not just timings like some seem to think

You're too late. Most online stores ran out of it two weeks ago.

Welcome to XtremeSystems Mike ! :toast: good to see ya here !

From what has been posted, they are no longer going to make any new DDR tracers, only the DDR2 versions.

The regular Ballistix are doing just as well.

Hehe, that makes the Tracer versions even more valuable for those of us who have purchased them :D

Ahhh... shame... no wonder i couldnt find em! From what Ive seen the normal Ballistix have the same IC's right? so they are identical except for the flashing lights... and lets face it, im more bothered about whether these things will do 250+ for me nicely, than a few lights!

BTW... its good 2 be here. I actually read alot around here, and get alot of info from u guyz, so I thought it was about time I signed up!

I spoke to the guy at crucial (USA) and he said later this week he would have more BALLISTIX TRACERS (http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.Asp?IMODULE=BL2KIT12864Z503#info). He said to call thursday morning, so i will and hope to get a positive response.. :)

That link u Provided is for regular ballistix, not Tracers. I believe "The Guy" either misinformed you, or you misunderstood him. Crucial isnt making the tracer anymore for DDR1. Only for DDR2.

sierra_bound 2X1GB Ballistix at 300X9

thanks for the info its been added to the top.

with 400 mb/s more bandwidth + 3ns faster than my EB which by itself isn't alot but going from 1GB to 2GB be a big difference ??

in gaming and encoding?? Iam also upgrading to a 4400+ soon

MikeMK
08-09-2005, 01:40 PM
Not sure about encoding, cos i dont do alot of that. But for gaming it really depends on the games u are playing. With MMORPG's like Everquest II u will notice a difference, but to date, ive only noticed two shooters that would notice a difference - BF2 and FEAR, although FEAR is only a demo atm. Still, i think games coming out soon are gonna need 2gb more and more...

Don't want to post the whole screen since it's 12x10 but you can see my Sandra here. (http://birch.net/~lindsayf/280spi.jpg)

If you must have Everest read & lat. let me know and I can run it tonight but read was pretty much identical to Sandra.

For the tracers that are left you are going to have to spend quite a bit more than what I and some of the others did....
Mwave has them $238 / GB (http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec.hmx?scriteria=BA21031)

I hate the lights but love the color of the heat spreaders, they aren't flat black like they look in the pics.

Also for those trying to get them on ebay WATCH out as there is a few sellers account thats has been hijacked and someone is ripping off people..

As I was almost one of them the auction stated that they took paypal, then after I won. They sent me a link to use egold dot com and transfer money to there.. As ebay wont insure it since I didnt use paypal.. So lucky I was wary about the purchase..

Would really love some Everest scores from people with X2 processors

My Everest dropped into the 6500-6600 range and thinking of going to ballistix 2GB but I need more info on the scores of 270+

The max oc i got out of my setup was 296 MHz 1:1 x 8.0.
Everest read was around 6900, due to the low CPU speed.
With my 24/7 setup (290 x 9) everest gives 7k read due to the higher CPU speed.
