I have an old Apple monitor that my dad was given. I believe its pretty old but a whole 17 inches!! Its called 'Apple Multiple Scan 1705 display'. It does 1024x768 @ 85Hz which isnt bad ( no headaches ). Sometimes the screen goes green or red for a few seconds so I'm gonna buy a refurbished dell 17 inch from Aria for £20.

My monitor is about 2 or 3 years old and can do 1600x1200 @ 85hz fine. At lower resolutions it can do 200hz.

How Old Is Your Monitor2-3 years. A 17" Sony Trinitron Multiscan G220 CRT monitor doing 1600 x 1200 @ 78Hz - might upgrade to a used Sony Trinitron GDM-F520 before long doing 1600 x 1200 @ 110.
Less any of you guys suggest anything better, that is...
Nice thread mukmaster :toast:

I'm on a 17" gateway monitor I got with my old computer 5 years ago, but I have a new 22" nec that should be arriving later this month. :D
This old gateway is a good one though, I'm running it at 1024x768@100hz.

darn im in @ 2nd oldest..
with a 96 IBM aptiva moniter with the stands built in for where the "daughter board/CD-ROM drive" fit underneath the monitor. it sits up nice and high.. and since im 6'3" its perfect. its from 1996 and still does 1280x1024... but i run it 1024x768 @ 75hz.
w00t for old monitors that still work.
EDIT: whats cooler is that i was 8yrs old when the monitor was made. :p:

It depends on which monitor your'e asking about. I'm using a three month old 21" Sammy, next to it is a 2 or three year old CTX, and behind me is my former pride and joy. A 19" Hitachi SuperScan Elite 751. It needs a cap job, but still is a great monitor after almost eight years.
Thinking about the past, every monitor since I went to VLB cards supported 1024. And that's almost twelve or thirteen years now.

Sony G520 21" trinitron monitor. This thing rocks and is still kicking 4.5 years later. I plan on sticking with this until it dies then joining the lcd bandwagon

ViewSonic A91f+, I think it's about 8 to 10months old, I don't quite remember. I run at 1024x768 75hz. I can't stand anything but 75hz, not sure why, even on other monitors, I can't stand the refresh rate being above 75hz

Mine is 2 years old. The samsung 757MB 17" flat CRT is awesome. Everything is nice and bright, very crisp coloring as well.
Not to mention it does 1600x1200 at 75hz =)
For the money I spent on this, there isnt any reason to me to upgrade it anytime soon.
