Does anyone know the value of the cappacitor shown in the picture, which broke off when soldering.

the only way to find out is to check with a DMM. You can replace the cap with one of the same size from something else though and it will work fine.

The datasheet for the regulator recommends a 100nf capacitor, so if Asus followed the reference design for the Vcore regulator, the value should be the same.

And do you know if that cappacitor has anything to do with my lower vcore?

Not having the capacitor might effect the amount of Vcore droop which you get, so it could make your Vcore lower (in theory)

Well if I do not try it, I will never know :) Going to solder a 100nf to it this evening.
