View Full Version : Windows: Physical SATA shown as removable device?
I built my girlfriends machine yesterday, Went fine.
Windows shows the hard drive as being removable. Any Ideas how to curb this problem? Its not really a problem, just an annoyance. Its on an A8N.

It is not a problem, it is the nature of how Windows XP deals with the Hot-Swap capable SATA drives.
It is perfectly normal, no need to worry.

Good tip, but I would rather leave that icon there. You will need it to mount and dis-mount some USB devices, like flash drives.
Of course you can plug in and pull out the flash drive without caring about the warming message, but don't knwo what will happen if keep doing so.
Despite the SATA drive, as long as thre is/are USB device, like my case, a internal multi-card reader, the icon will be there all time.
