Very good results from the Ballistix, Mushkin and OCZ. Check it out.

Yep....I read that roundup earlier today. It's an excellent read. Looks like Corsair ranks up at the top.

I think you mean 2x1GB. ;)

A good review. I just wish it included a 4x512MB 2-2-2-2t setup for comparison.

Like all memory reviews and comparisons, it should be taken with a grain of salt.

If for no other reasons: variations between modules, the persons expertise doing the comparison, tweaks necessary in bios for different memory, even the placement of the sticks in different dimms, A64 memory controller, etc.

It's a good effort and has some good points in it, but it doesn't reflect the results that are being obtained and posted in the 2gig data base.

"At 272 MHz, Corsair's TWINX2048-3200C2 is screaming fast for one gigabyte modules. With a 36% overclock, Corsair simply leaves all the other modules in the dust"

The Crucial Ballistix is one of that modules that eat dust!!

i wanna see this corsair at 2 x 1GB database and verify that, but no one at XS have this modules! i guess!

The author admits that he thinks he just got a bum set of balistix.

If you have ever bought several sticks of the same memory and tested each of them then you understand just how hard it is to do a memory review with only one set. Individual sticks of memory vary as much as processors do when it comes to OCing. So a review using only one pair is pretty much luck of the draw.

Well got my ballistix and did fine 285 3-3-3-8 1T... (not much tweaking at all... not familiar with this memory :P) -> And that is windows memtest stable :P
memtest86 up to 291 3-3-3-8 1T. Might spend some time figuring out how to get it higher but mighty happy as it stands now. Considering how people are doing with ballistix, it seems to me the reviewer did get dud stick. How can they sell rated 250mhz stick with no margin? Could be bios incompatibilities, etc that reveier didn't have time to dig further into.

Amdzones reviews have always blowed goats. His overclocking skills are sorry as well as his layout. Corsair nudging out Ballistix? Yeah, right
