definetly a good thing, i was a phase n00b until 4 months ago, its nice an easy to setup if you get one of the mainstream ones. Works well too. gets that few extra mhz ;)

Very nice Modstream w00t w00t!!!
Very nice Modstream w00t w00t!!!
its no mod stream, and all modular supplies suck due to its inherent design, adding more resistance by making the powercables a plug and making the voltage less clean

it is a modstream
I doubt the resistance amounts to enough to disrupt the rails.
Still, it does the job for me :)

Man that does look very sweet.
I have one question though. I see you have a power cable connected to the motherboard which is a floppy like connection. Is that a power out or power in and what's the purpose of it? First time I've seen that on a motherboard.

There is a molex and a floppy connector to the motherboard, adds more juice and stabilises it, all DFI NF4 boards have them and probably all NF4 boards (not sure though)
It just provides extra power when the mobo needs it, more for use with SLI systems, but its recommended they are connected on these boards :)

Looks good, but what did you do to the intake section for the condenser? Did you just remove 3 or so 5.25 bay covers? DO you have a pic of the front part?

Check this out... maybe you can fabricate something like this for front :)

do you have heat issue w/ your compressor?
welshtom

I havent done anything for the front yet, been looking for a grill or something to cover it, looking at that link now.
I have 3 120mm fans blowing out of the top of the case. cant quite see them in the pictures, they keep the compressor cool.

Nice to see your rig there Tom. I know where I'll be calling when I need advice putting my phase in (thinking about getting one towards the end of the year) - Hopefully a Vapo LS to keep my X2 cool at high Mhz :D. I already joined in over here! Still, I 'grew up' my knowledge in the OcUK forums so I'm not migrating!

yea us Ocuk homeboys need to stick together ;). Well if you ever need any of my (limited) knowledge of phase then ask away. Its pretty easy though. Imo its a lot less hassle than water really. Spend far more time twiddling with the watercooling in there and its a pig to setup from dry than i do with the vapo. With the vapo its just grease it up, put as5 ona nd clamp down the head, job done.

yea, its a snug fit thought. All slots in nicely :).
One of the tubes is a generic crappy piece. its the vertical one going to the res. I have some tygon on the way to replace that section.
Just ran out with a foot to go, its always the same innit

may i ask where did u get the water block for your chipset and video card.
as i too am working on a vapo system. and i need to keep that chipset cool without all that noise?
welshtom
08-13-2005, 05:15 AM
The gpu block is a danderden Maze4, available anywhere i would ahve thought.
The chipset block is a little harder as onyl two are on the market, one from germany (DFI FREEZER) and one from Italy ( Lunaforce L4E)
I have the italian one
http://www.lunasio-cooling.com/catalog/default.php
Thats their shop. best off emailing them and asking them for English instructions on how to order, unless you can read Italian :).

Nice awsome stealthy setup.
A vapo + watercooling inside a fulltower is elite.
