I have a 2800 @ 2400 (got it finally) air cooling 8*300 with a half divider (horrible mem). These chips are really good overclockers.
d2ol stable at 2.7ghz?
I would also like to hear the answer to this question.

pretty darn good for such a budget chip though its rather crippled by the 128kb cache

Damn...celeron gets its butt kicked...again :(

Perhaps intel needs Celerons with HT to counter this :p

Why not ? , i make sure that folding is not stress than prime95 , even my CPU fail prime at 2.5Ghz in a minute , i can fold 24/7

However , prime just stable at 2.3Ghz :slapass:

The sempron is just a office processor with little cache, just like the celeron but it only clocks better.

I wouldnt really compare the sempron to the celeron....the celeron is usually 1 step back from the P4 as now the P4s are 800bus and the celerons are 533bus and they also lack the cache...Semprons just lack the cache and thats all thats stopping them from becoming A64's plus the cache isnt a huge deal as it already has the memory controller and the latency is so low anyway..

Anyone tried out a socket 754 nf4 board yet ? All these DFI NF3 250's are good and all ..... but i'd really like to see someone test out on a more HTT friendly chipset. Me thinks that these chips have much much more in them.

The DFI NF3 LP UT is HTT friendly. I don't know what you mean exactly when saying "HTT friendly", but over 350MHz HTT for example is no problem with most DFI LP NF3 boards.

Anyway, I'm still with you. ATM, I'm waiting for the new DFI NF4X-AL board (well or another Nforce4-4X chipset based Socket754 board to accompany my Oakville CPUs).

For amd's most low end chip, a 1.1ghz oc is very nice.
but these semprons are basically single-channel venice cores with less cache so results aren't so suprising imho.

Yesterday i recieved my 2500+ which is 64 bit with E6 core.I updated my BIOS on the Asus K8N-E-Deluxe to 1010.After doing so,system is running perfectly fine but i dont see the Vcore option anywhere.Where did it go ? any solutions ?

Although i managed 2.1GHz on it, i am sure it is capable of much more but interestingly my board dumps as soon as i go past 305 HTT,i have kept HTT multiplier on 2x.

i think that asus board you have can't change voltage. i don't know if its sempron related or not. my friend had the same issue.

If CPU not support C'n'Q ,Asus K8N can't change voltage.

64bit ones should have amd64 label on packaging.

all s754 cpu's are single-channel.

there are only 3100+ and 3000+ 130nm semprons, i doubt you'll find any of those these days.

Our member iMax from Vietnam managed to get a 64bit Sempron and reached an overclock of over 1Ghz! He got his 2600+ (1.6ghz 128kb L2 cache) to 2.7Ghz despite the very low multiplier most likely limiting his overclock. not bad for a 60$ cpu!

for more details check out his thread here
