ok guys, followed a guide for vcore mod on P4C800 and double chacked with a pic from macci, so the mod is done the right way AFAIK.
But as soon as I plug it in the vcore drops .04V and if I turn the VR it continue to decrease.

What is going on here?

Set VR@28k before mod. Lot of bare wire on 1 lead. What is third wire in pic.
50k VR?

I've done the same mod before, and it works fine. I did use a different solder point tho (see attachment), but it looks like the point that you used and the point that I used are connected, from your picture.

Are you sure that the VR is grounded properly?

The two right leds are for vdroop, and the VR was set to 27k.
droop is fine, just 0.02 idle-load.

Problem is vcore, the one to the left, which is going to ground.
Ground is the FAN header's ground. I'll try another ground.

Are you sure that the VR is grounded properly?I'll double check if they're connected.

*EDIT* They are connected, will try another ground now...

*EDIT2* Found the problem. The "ground" in the FAN header located there is not ground, it is +5v!

Yes it does, but I just managed to play with it for a couple of minutes before my motherboard started to act extremely strange.
Been working flawless for more than 3 days but now I need to have it mounted to a metal plate to get it to post. I guess there are some grounding issues.

Besides that, what do you guys use to solder on these Asus boards? I can't get the solder on the board's components to melt.
Much easier on Abit.

I use .022 62/36/2 Silver Bearing Rosin core solder from radshack
