So i got my new OCZ Platinum Revision 2 Memory, so i am all good, but being curious of what this old memory i use to use "PNY DDR433 512MB" i started researching, well come to find out the chips are BRAVO ADP328TM-50 (which i cant find anything about except they runn 2.5-3-3-5 @ DDR400) we all know thats not the best, but looking closer, they are on a brainpower PCB, which i noticed from the B6U808 ingraved on the top corner of the pcb, just curious if these chips are remarked or what, i am gonna take some time and really take them up there to see if they were worth the $100 i paid for the pair!

i thought he was talking about taking the spreaders off of his old memory, not the rev 2's. i could be wrong but that's the way i read it.

Yes this is my old PNY DDR433 which i am still trying to figure out what chips these really are, but it did ddr400 2.5-3-3-5 with not issues at 2.9v

First i show ya that it is a Brainpower PCB (which when i was at work, even the $59 pny 512MB has brainpower!

These chips i have no idea weather they are restamped or what, but here ya see it says "ADP328TM-50"

so good or bad? will this ram do good with high volts? or just decent?

check out the www.techpowerup.com ram chip database.

Sorry, one stupid question, what is the special for these so called Brain Power PCBs? 6 layers? better insulation?

Not challenging the excitment here, but to me, it is just type of PCB model RAM module manufacturers pciked for their products, they may get better price with good purchase volume.

On hand I have pair of G.Skill 2x256MB TCCD, OCZ Plat. Rev.2, Geil One SE PC4800, S.Skill GBGH, they all use the B6U808 PCB.

I also have a pair of Apacer 2x256MB TCCD, and used to have a pair of TwinMos SP DDR 433 BH5, these two pairs do not use the B6U808 PCB, but actually, Apacer TCCD is doing better than the G.Skill TCCD, TwinMos BH5 is better than the G.Skill GBGH, stability-wise, with my system.

So, really, may be just cost concern for using this PCB, I guess.

the memory i have here which is strange to me isnt listed, i am wonder if this memoyr is one of those relabeled chips that can take high voltages and turn out wonders kinda like Valve VX

no high voltages for infineon. give it 2.8-2.9v and see how it does. decent ram, nothing more. if you're really lucky, you might reach 250. i've seen a couple of bt-5's doing that. but since this one is relabeled, i can't say whether it is bt-5, ce-5 or something else...

@bamboo:
brainpower pcb uses more efficient component layout to reduce electrical noise at higher frequencies and therefore ensure higher overclock. if you take a good look, you'll see that bp is 'shorter' (lower) then generic layout pcb (usually reference jedec's design) and that it has less passive components.
