Specs are in the siggy. Cept for one thing I forgot to mention. The heatsink. Thats an Aeroflow VP4C7040 with some AS5 on it.

Alright, heres my problem. I just got this stuff in the other day to replace that old Dell POS I had. The Motherboard, PSU, Sink, and Memory all are new. (Refer to signature) Of course, im gonna try to overclock the best I can.

Well, Ive not done much reading into it, but for some reason the memory will not run at 200mhz like its rated for. The board is rated for DDR3200, The memory is, but it will not boot at such speeds. It boots at 2700 speeds. Why?

Anyway, I use CPUFSB to raise my speed up (Bios, CPUFSB, both do the same thing) to 155.6 (Using Cpu-Z for all the speeds) and that brings the memory speed up to 194.5. Thats good and all.. but I want that damned memory running at 200mhz damnit! I then bring the FSB to 160 which makes the cpu run at 2880 and the memory run right at 200mhz.

Well, I got it. It was running alright for about 5 min before the computer just reset on me. Well, I thought that was peculiar and increased the voltages to what they currently are in the signature to see if that would help. Then I do it again. Sure enough, it resets on me shortly after still.

I figure its not a ram problem seeing as how the ram is right at its rated speeds, so it has to be the CPU. I even try to increase the voltage to 1.6 and it still resets.

I dont think its a heat issue because this room is quite chilly, although all the cpu temp reporting programs dont seem to work quite right with this board or something and I cant get it to ever report the right temps. Anyway, When it resets the first thing I do is go into the bios and to the PC Health section to check the temps. Rather cool at 26C. Even at the 1.6 voltages.

Just incase it was the ram, I set the FSB:DRAM ratio to 1:1 and try it again. Its not the memory cause it just resets still.

So, I ask of the overclocking gurus this. Whats holding me back? Why cant it remain at 160fsb? Are there any tricks I can pull off on my processor to help or something?

Im such an anal bastard. Everything has to be rounded off. :slap:

I see that you have only one stick of ram. It could be that the board won't run the ram at its rated speed unless its in dual channel. This would require two sticks of ram. This is just a guess, because I cant see any reason as to why your computer won't run the memory at stock speeds. Maybe try a bios update to the latest as well.

Hopefully someone else is familar with such a situation.
