Hey guys,

I want to change my Ultra-D to work in SLI (i have the sli connector) and so wish to do the bridge trick on the southbridge. I have some metallic paint here:

http://www.decoart.com/cgi-bin/Products.cgi?Dazzling_Metallics

it uses metal flakes and is an acrylic paint, i'm just wondering if you think it'll work?

Cheers,

not likely. The quickest way to get conductive paint is go to an auto supply and buy a rear window defroster repair liquid. It's highly conduction and sticks VERY well. Conductive paint can also be had at electronic supply places

That crap dries really fast too. I hated unlocking old Athlon XPs with that stuff. You always needed a LITTLE on the end of whatever you were using. But the problem was that if often dried too fast if you left the top off.

The paint is the only thing i had to hand so as this didn't work I ended up using a pencil. The first three attempts didn't work but the forth allowed me to fire it up as nForce4 SLI. Just waiting on the two 7800 GTX's now :D

I bought conductive pens from an electronics fun shop. They are much faster then soldering and work very nicly.

why use paint or solder if you can just scribble on it with a pencil?

Rear Window Defogger Repair paint.....works great and permanent :)

Most Auto parts stores carry it.

How did you guys get that damn Epoxy off the top of the bridges? A Razor couldn't get it all off for me...

Overpriced from ridiculous shack, but can be had cheaper elsewhere. Has enough 'ink' to do thousands of mods like these. Mine's still ticking after two years and I used it to do a ton of retracing on broken guitar effect pedals.

I used a carbon based conductive paint and didn“t make it. Second try using aluminium based paint worked.
