View Full Version : Whats the difference between ocz 4800 plat and elite ed?

hello
all
i just bought some ocz Platinum Edition pc4800 ram from newegg.
it arrived yesterday, then today i see everyone talkin about the elite ed.

i check out the ocz site and they have the same specs.

i think the diff is that the elite ed. uses tccd if im not mistaken

could someone please tell me y i should rma my brand new sticks
for the elite ed.

elite ed. uses tccd, yours is tcc5?no? should clock as good try them...for the price i think they are a good buy.....as the elite ed. i have seen it in the $300 range....also i dont think newegg carries them....

you got them allready try them, i think you should be better with those 4800, they are tested at 300 so if your mem controller can take it.........

do u think they'll do 300x10 on my venice 3200 phase cooled?
cuz all i want is a 3ghz amd
is that too hard to ask!!!

i dont know, but if you have them at hand try them, i think you have a good chance with the 4800...what may limit you is the memory controller, but its luck of the draw....

The plat elite are TCCD and are factory tested to run DDR400 2-2-2-5 AND DDR600 2.5-4-4-8, the plat are TCC5 and just spec'd to run DDR600 2.5-4-4-8.
