Hey,

I have a few question concering several types of RAM and which YOU would reccomend to me (it seems most people on this forum know a lot).
So here is the deal, I'm looking for some DDR500 for my AMD 64 3200+ Venice, but my only limitation is my ASUS A8N SLi*1 (3.0V max vdimm).
I've narrowed my search to 2 well known vendors, Mushkin and OCZ. The Mushkin XP4000 (RedLine) is rated at 2-2-2-6 @ 2.6V @ 400MHz and 2-2-2-6 @ 3.3 - 3.5V @ 500MHz, while the OCZ GOLD Rev.2 EL is rated at 2.5-3-3-8 @ 2.8V @ 500MHz.
I was told to look at TCCD/TCC5 because it can do 2-3-3 @ 3V or less @ 500MHz, but the OCZ EL says otherwise.

Here is the question.
What CAS latency is attainable at 3.0V @ ddr500 on the mushkin? I'm hoping somewhere around 2-3-3-6. Also, what CAS is attainable at 3.0V on the OCZ Rev.2 EL? Probably 2-3-3-6(or 7). If tRAS latency of 1 is quite negligable then I'm willing to go up one for the 'better ram'. I also have sufficient enough cooling even though 3.0V wont put the RAM too hot.

The XP4000 is cheaper but can it beat the EL OCZ @ 3.0V?
Basically I would like to know which RAM has better latencies at 3.0V @ 500MHz

I've done quite a lot of reasearch but I just can't find the answer here.
HELP!!

and if anyone else has another suggestion, please tell me (GeiL, Corsair, ect.)

OCZ DDR booster isn't compatable with motherboard :(.

and if anyone has a link to explain bh-5 tcc/5 (and the other types) memory that would be awesome.

Well my redline can do ddr500 @3.1v 2-2-2-5, dont know if this is common though/.

This (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=372050) doesn't include the most recent inventions, but it might be helpful.

you need more than 3.0vdimm to bring the best out of the Mushkin Redlines (or UTT in general). TCCD is a better choice , in your case (3.0vdimm max).
I don't know if 250Mhz (or DDR500) 2-3-3-6 is possible with TCCD or TCC5.

Usually TCCD goes up to +- 240 Mhz with 2-3-3-x timings (mine do 238 Mhz 2-3-3-6 ) , 250Mhz "usually" requires 2,5-3-3-x timings

Since you are in the market for NEW memory. Maybe you should think about 2x1024. More and More games and Apps are benifiting from the extra gig of ram. I personaly will never run under 2 gigs in any of my systems now. I know it costs more, but its well worth it. Crucial 2x1024 are hittin 270ish on average with 2.6-2.8v its 3-3-3-8 1T. Timings are a little loose but its double the memory. OCZ has a set too but we're waitin on some OC numbers. Should be in the next day or 2.

I just found a mod for my mobo to get my vdimm up to 3.3V and it's really quite easy. I think I'll do it to get the extra performance from the RAM I get.

I don't think I'll need 2GB, I've ran 512MB for the last year or so, when everyone made the jump to 1GB. I didn't really suffer a performance problem, that I knew of :D. I don't play games at 1600x1200, mostly 1024x768 so 1GB of RAM isn't 100% needed.
