While talking to one of the ocz's rep on msn i came up with a suggestion regarding the ocz memory. EricRyder liked my suggestion so i thought i'd make a thread and see how many other people would like this to happen.

Ok, so the thing is, We all know, lower temps can help Tccd/bh-5/utt overclock more. So i thought, How about Ocz make their highend ram where you have an option of removing the Heatspreader.

The people who want bling bling can keep them on but the extreme overclockers can take them off for their lower temps and stuff. They can charge a bit extra for this option but i am sure people would be willing to pay?

I think its a good idea.

How many off you's agree with this suggestion and would like this to happen?

It sounds like a good idea to me, even though I have no memory with heatspreaders. I guess the only problem with it is the risk of someone damaging the ram in the process of removing them, but I suppose RMAs from that could be dealt with seperately....

Let me get this straight....

You mean, "extreme overclockers" would HAVE to pay extra for sticks WITHOUT heat-spreaders???
Not gonna happen :nono:

BTW, thread moved to Storage & Memory

no, what i mean is that you pay like $10-20 extra to have an option of removing the heatspreader if you like.

^ and therefore removing them wouldnt void warranty...

but still - i dont wanna pay more just to take them off :(
