I guess you all could call me a newb at this overclocking stuff but you gotta start somewhere:) . But any way i have a p4s5a mother board with the sis 645 chipset and i cant gett his damn thing to overclock at all. i dont know what the problem is and not only that the performance from my systm is horrible yeah i know i only have sdram cut it should be enough to run games at normal sppeds right. well any advice could help some have told me to just go out and get a nice piece of ddr and others have told me to switch over and get a cpu/motherboard combo for amd. so lemme know what you think.

oplaxruss,
A buddy of mine has a similar system, same cpu and mobo, and I think the fsb only jumps in 33 mhz intervals, right? That was his problem, his system wouldn't boot at 2.66 ghz, although we thought it should have. He's got sdram too, I think that makes a difference. Stay with the P4 2.0, but get some ddr ram and the albatron PX845PE Pro, good for the money.
