i love it, very fast and very stable. ....but i would suggest getting a copy from newegg or compusa. i used the ftp install (since you cant DL an ISO) and its got some small glitches in it from installing over the internet.

wow.. I can't read that setup.txt. Must be written in jap or something of the kind! How is it supposed to be installed? I tried to do a simple 'make install' inside the drv directory but it gave me an error and it didn't install wcpuid.

The setup.txt is ascii Japanese, I'm almost certain. What was the error message? If it looked like:
Warning: kernel-module version mismatch
/usr/local/sbin/nrkdrv32 was compiled for kernel version 2.4.4
while this kernel is version 2.4.9-31
Warning: loading /usr/local/sbin/nrkdrv32 will taint the kernel: no license
Warning: loading /usr/local/sbin/nrkdrv32 will taint the kernel: forced load
you can ignore the warnings. Try changing dir to app and running xcpuid.

That's not it. It says I don't have permition to acess or to execute the script 'addev.sh' (not sure about the script name). It's not a permitions problem (at least it should not be necessary to change them) and yes, I did it with root. If I ignore the error when I load the program it says I don't have a certain driver installed and exits. I tend to believe this is related to devfs. What do you think? I'm using Gentoo and a lot of things are not 'standart': some folders don't exist or are renamed and things like that.
I would really like to get this working.. Any help is appreciated. :)

cd to the root of the installation directory (the one with the readme in it).
Then, do
chmod -R +x .
to make all the files executable. Then run the make again.

It won't work, believe me. As I've told you before, this can't be a permition problem...

Even the root user can't execute a file that doesn't have the execute bit set.
As an alternative, for testing, cd to the drv directory and run .adddev.sh.
If it doesn't run, try ls -l ./.adddev.sh from the drv directory. Bet it doesn't show any execute (x) bits in the listing.
Outside of that, you could be having any issue from a corrupt running kernel, to ACL issues (assuming you have ACL's enabled), to a compromised system.
This isn't rocket science, the answer is likely a simple one.
