ok i think i'm on to something here! Try this guys, as my game is running awesome now!!!!

1)Go in to BF2 and set the settings how you like them, but keep AA turned off!!!
2)Exit game and go to "your name" documents\BF2\mods\BF2\cache and delete whatever is in there.
3)Now click Start and go to Control Panel and open "Sounds and audio devices". Once there click Advanced in Speaker settings, and under the performance tab slide the hardware acceleration to standard acceleration.
4)Then click start, then run, and type in the command box "temp" without the quotes. Delete all thats in there. Close out. You must have ALL taskbar items closed, or you will not be able to delete all of the files!!!
5)Click start and run again, but this time in the command box type "C:\Documents and settings\Your name\Local Settings\Temp" without the quotes, and delete all thats in there. Type the correct drive letter you need for your system. Most are C.
6)Now set the level of AA and AF you want directly from the drivers of your card. NOT the in game menu.
7)Restart BF2 and start a single player map. As soon as it loads disconnect and quit BF2.
8)Defrag harddrive(s)

This has worked great for me. Let me know if it helps any of you. :toast:
One more thing, untill another patch is released, try running the game at 1024x768 with a 75 refresh rate. I was told by an EA tech that this gives best performance. I did all of this and my game runs perfect now....hope it help you too :toast:

any ideas why it runs better with AA in the Drivers instead of the ingame settings?

really i dont, i think it has something to do with the way it's storing the cache files. This in my opinion is the biggest reason for all of the jerkiness in the game. These files are not being filed or read right  Because if you erase these files and make new ones often it seams to help  :toast:
