I've read that H2O cooling isn't better than air on P4's, and costs heaps more. I wonder how a high end air cooler - Swiftech MCX4000 and Delta 68cfm/81cfm (will cost me 100 AUD) - compares to a good water cooling rig (will cost me 500 AUD) ? Any idea ? Also is the MCX4000 much better than the MCX462 I'm using ? :)

Edit: noise isn't an issue. I can't sleep without hearing the fans roar :p

Cheers and merry Christmas :)

Niko,
Well glad I saw this, I have a mcx478, delta hi-rpm. I certainly wouldn't switch to water. I'd only go to extreme peltier or phase change. This is 2.66 on air (cold air that is) I know the temps are strange, all Albatron's do it. 5C ambient.

You're right.........my 1.8A could only do 3.1GHz stable in a Vapochill PE, and as you can see it does 3.03GHz stable aircooled. I need to return this MCX462+Delta to my friend soon though....so I think I will buy a MCX4000 :)

Cheers and thanks for the advice :)

Btw excellent OC on the 2.66 8)
