I know I have been asking alot of questions lately and I hope you can tolerate me with this last question here for a while. Do you think the Abit IT7Max V.2 PE the best Intel mobo out there in terms of overclockability?

No, Look at the Epox 4GEA+, all the features of the 4PEA+ but with extreme graphics for free as well. Also the boards costs the same and the OC like crazy.

Simple answer to your question.....Go and take a look at "the first" places of every benchmark(3DMark-PCMark-Pi-Fast,ect) and make your own opinion.... ;)

Well,
You could spend $170 on an Abit IT7Max2 v.2 or look at my $84 Albatron PX845PEV Pro !!! There are a LOT of IT7M2V2 owners with lesser results...
And some with better results ;)

P4 2.66 on AIR. Stock Radeon 9700
My next motherboard will be Granite Bay. No other motherboard swap will give me the performance increase I desire. Intel 845PE performance is maxed out. And if you want more bells and whistles, check out Albatrons PX845PEV PROII, with SILVER PCB, Sata, RAID, etc...oh and for $124.99 at googlegear.com...:D
Or spend the extra $$ on Abit...it's cool.

Drozdov,
It's an Albatron thing...
Even anandtech's original PX845PEV review showed this peculiarity. All I know is that the cpu runs cool enough to push really hard:D
It may be at 30C???? But also, maybe it's cuz I was in a 5c room and my 92mm fan(side blowhole) feeds my delta/mcx478
Dunno'??
from anandtech.com (sorry)

HI
I run a 433 GEIL ultra platinum @ 180fsb 3/4 enabled 2.6 volts, with no probs on a IT7max2 ver2.
