No need to cut or scrape the excess superglue because there shouldn't be any.
After applying a drop of the stuff, use a needle or toothpick to spread it flat until it dries.
That's how I've done it dozens of times.

I've never had very good luck with the grease, it works for about a month or two and then bake itself till it's nonconductive. I've been having much better success with rear window defogger repair paint. Just got to use a very fine point needle to apply it.
As long as you use tape over the contacts when using the super glue to fill the cuts you'll be fine. Just make sure the tape makes good clean contact to avoid the glue from seeping under it.:)

I'm really surprised you've had this problem with the grease,
as every one I have ever unlocked with this still is.
The one in this rig being the first one I did with this kit, (axp1700+)
and it has been unlocked for almost a year with no issues.

Seems like it would take quite a bit of heat to bake
the stuff until its non-conductive, but I suppose it's possible.

Did you use the kit from HighSpeedPC? Or get the grease from another source?

The kit from highspeedpc is not permanent, you can too easily wipe it and after a month i had my bridge open as before
BTW i've two chips with this kit while trying to unlock, i don't know what killed them as they look unharmed

The best stuff i've found to use is some Silver Paint which comes in a little bottle with a brush. I've been using it for about 6 months now, and i've never had a problem with it at all.
