Well its been awhile since my neighbors cleared out the apartment next door. They left behind a really crapp AC that does still work since I tried it. I thought this would be a great way to invest some time into making (gaining some experience atleast) a Cooler :) I was wondering if someone can tell me how I should extract the Compressor and any other parts that I might need without actually damaging it. This help would greatly be appreciated! Its late now so I don't feel like doing it now, but as soon as I wake up im giving it a whirl! Thanks in advance

PS: Also, I would appreciate it if anyone can point me on to a very noob friendly link onto making a Phase Change Cooler (1 step of course) Look out subzero world, here I come ! :woot:

Look around these forums. The finished project threads people always do are an awesome way to see what works.

check out the stickies this guides one is goodhttp://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=54659 is very useful read each of the guides at least twice and you will get a better understanding! Make sure to have a a/c tech remove the refrigerant most do this for free since refrigerant is expensive and can be recylced.
