any simple way to use an a/c unit to cool my cpu? prefferably without the need of a hsf. thanks in advance!

put evaporator in a box with coolant and you have a chiller.

can convert the evaporator on it using a cpu evap (chilly1 block or etc..) w/ new suction line assembly, captube and get the gas recharged. Viola!

Lol gclg2000 makes it sound so easy, its easier to get an able forum member to do this for you. Since the tools would probaly diminish any chance of doing it cheaper yourself (i learned that the hard way).

well before i take apart the old ac, is there anything that can kill me in there by touching? cuz in monitors and tvs there are, making sure not in acs.

Don't touch the AC power and don't touch any capacitors if there are any. The worst you'd get from the refrigeration system would be a cold burn.

ac power? whats that? you mean dont flick switches or plug it in?

AC power, alternating current, popular in North America for some time.
