I just read a thread over at teh [h] (i know i know, hold your flames please) talking about the springdale chipset and how it wont allow overclocking, and how Intels putting a cap on it. Does anyone know anything about this, have any truth to this rumor, any evidence?

That would just help AMD. I don't see it happening.

No way, intell is adding overclocking features (via turbo mode) to one of their up coming chipsets, don't see it happening.
