The next system i will be building will be using a phase change cooling system because i can finally afford to buy one! The one thing i am wondering is which company builds a better phase change system Asetek or ECT. When i look on these forums i can see that most of the people mod the vapochill, is this because it is easier to mod? I would like the idea of possible being able to mod my phase change system to make it last that much longer. So give me some feedback and i would appreciate it. I will be purchasing the newest modell from each company so that is what i am refering to.

I'm assuming that you mean the Vapochill LS and the Prometeia Mach 2 GT? Well, the Mach 2 GT is better temperature wise. OR you could get whatever is cheaper and send it to chilly1 or someone else who can mod it. But the smart thing to do (in order to save money) would be to read over the stickies and eventually build your own (You can make one for $100-200 USD; chilly1 did something of the sort.)

ls to mach 2 gt is not really that much diffrence temp wise... the vapo has a much easier mounting system than the mach especially if you remove the head and mount again... damn i hate seal string... works well though

for the guys on this board you lookin in the 500+ region i can't give exact numbers to you but i can say it's alot cheaper than buying retail stuff...oh and colder to....not too mention chilly1's mounting system mounts to pretty much anything that needs to be cold including video cards and annoying ex girlfriends.

Well i have seen some of the custom made ones and i dont like them because they are not in a container like the mach2 GT and the Vapochill LS.
I want soemthing that looks nice and doesnt look like a science experiment. How much better is the mach 2 then the vapochill? I dont mind paying the 8-1000 dollars it costs to get one. What do the forum guys charge to mod these babies?

haha...they look almost identical to the Vapochill LS....both Chilly1 and PC ICE's single stage units are identical in size and shape to a vapo ls...they can also color match (or at least I know PC ICE can)...yoru thinking of things like OPP's autocascade the big blue monster......and two and three stagers....if you PM chilly1 he'll give you a price to mod the LS...though I seriously urge you to PM Chilly1 or PC ICE about a custom unit...they can even build their unit to mount wiht the LS head kits.

These don't look like science experiments to me. Let me get this right: you would pay an extra $300-500 just for it to look good??? The whole point of a phase change system is performance ;)

Here's the solution: Go out and buy the housing kit (i.e. the Lian li conversion) from whichever system you like better. Then send the pieces to Chilly or PCIce and have them make you a custom phase change which can utilize the panels. This way, you'll get the looks you want with better performance than any of those pre-fabbed systems will ever give you.

Maybe I should have clarified. The first pic is one of Chilly1's units, and the second pic are PCICE's units. Just wanted to show that they don't look like science experiments ;)

The Lian Li lower case conversion kit costs $200 new and will fit both Asetek and ECI models. It comes in silver and black. Don't waste your $200. Chilli1 and PC_ICE both make beautiful cases for their cooling units as you can see from the examples posted above. The only possible reason for buying the Lian Li bottom case kit would be if you already had an LS or a MachII that you wanted to dress up.

I'd like to see the sticky to build phase change for $100 :stick: :stick:

Is there any condensation build up with these units or are they as good as vapo and mach 2? Its not worth it to me to get better temps when risking burning out something, since everythign in this next system is going to be top of the line. The 500 dollars price for a exellent phase change unit is very attractive though. Does chilly give any warranty on these systems? Will chilly use his secret recipe or gasses that he wont tell anyone about?

Insulation is top notch...you won't have any condensation issues....you need to contact chilly1 for detailed information...the sky is the limit with how they are built so talk to him about what you want.
Oh and to clarify.......Lian-Li Side Panel Kit is $95 retail at a number of online stores.

You can build phase change for under $200 with a good bit of ebaying and shopping around. I've spent just over $200 so far cause I want to make a nice acryllic box and a new acryllic case for my comp as well.

I just sent a PM to chilly it sounds like they give you a great product for a great deal i cant wait! I have been wanting to get one of these for like 2 years now. I was going to get a pure bred labrador this weekend till i got the itch and realized that i would spoil myself alot more by getting a phase change unit. phase change units dont require shots food and dont crap all over the yard JOY!

Asetek gives you the bad Chillcontrole that can cause ALOT of problems, the mach 2 and support. Weel I dont know.

The side panel kit may be $95 but they are talking about the lower case mod, not a side panel. Please post a link. Thanks
