whoa someone REALLY needs to look into this

its showing up to 1.7 volts available to mess with in a few 7800 bioses I just tried.

I don't have a 7800, but I thought I would see if this program offerd support for it, and indeed it does, and then some.
I hope this works.
that would be an amazing range to have for 7800's.

You modify the BIOS, then flash the BIOS. Everyone has been doing this since the 6800 series cam out.

hmm...i got 1.7 volt options too...wonder if this works :/ ...i'm trying 1.5 volts... hopefully it won't :banana::banana::banana::banana: up :/

1.5 volts didn't help any ocing...so no difference here...but i need better cooler to go any higher...

I wanted to try it out, so I took my BIOS, selected 1.7v, and hit save. Nothing changed. Then I realized I didn't hit apply. I didn't feel like giving it another go, but for anyone that does, you want to hit hit APPLY then SAVE to get the change.

I think im gonna wait til theres a little more testers before trying to put 1.7v through my 600 dollar card:D.

Anybody else who test this software??????

is it safe to use to increase voltage with a 6600 card?
would it work?

Well, it's definately modifying the BIOS correctly as if I change the 7800GTX voltage to 1.5v with this tool and then load it up in NiBiTor2.2 the new value is daiplayed there too.

However, I'd be surprised if this actually had any effect on the 7800GTX as I thought it had been proven that the hardware was only capable of 1.4v max anyway.

Just out of interest I loaded up a 6800 Ultra BIOS in the tool and I was presented with voltage options up to 1.7v here as well. AFAIK it was proven that the max that could be achieved with a BIOS mod on those cards was 1.5v.

Can someone test this on an 6200 bios (PCI-E)? What is the default voltage of the gpu for 6200 ?

What about an ati version of this? My x800xt aiw does not have a voltage mod. There is none available for it. This would be tits if it were true....

Why use this tool them Nbitor works perfect and has a better interface???

EDIT: We did this :banana::banana::banana: since the 5900 Xt´s. So nothing new on that branch :stick:

But use Nbitor, its way more testet throw then that :D

Nbitor can increase VGPU for 6200 (Gigabyte PCI-E) or even VDDR ?

Kunaak

nibitors good, but it needs more options.
this has more options.
if it works, I'd switch to this in a second.
if I had a Nvidia card here, I would do this in a second.

I heard somewhere that voltage increases thorugh bios do not work with 6200 cards but both programs say they work with nvidia 6x00 cards. Which is true?

I tried to take voltage over 1.4 with nVidia BIOS Modifier but i did not work. Gonna finnish up my hardmod this weekend.

Hmm , if i load my original bios and i only set voltage to 1.5v and apply and then save , and then try to open it with nibitor 22a ( 21 also ) i get a message device not suported.
Im afraid that my card wont accept that bios ( 6800GT PCI-E , XFX ) even maybe kills my card.

Do u guys have this problem also ?

I will now thoug :p

Report back asap :D

EDIT: Yes it has all the way up to 1.7 V for 6800 gfx to. Dont quite think I will start bios editing my 6600 Pci-e card yet :D

PS, version 3.0 of this app was released which adds 7800 delta clock controls and 6600/6200 temp monitoring mod. Nibitor can do this also though, kind of wish I could test which one's better (by seeing if the 1.7v modes work, etc) but my card doesn't respond well to having a separate 2D and 3D mode.

With version 3.0 it says "This GPU isnt supported " when loading original 6800GT PCI-E , XFX bios ...

The bios is this (http://www.cranox.com/Vmods/XFX6800GT/Nibitor/ORIGINAL.ROM)

possibly increase the VCore from 1.2 to 1.4v via the BIOS, allowing you to OC more.

Ok. Is there any way I can hurt my card if I attempt this?? Do I just load up my bios and set the voltage? If so, is it permanent?

Cybercat

It can't hurt, 1.4v is far from extreme. I don't think NVIDIA BIOS Modifier actually lets you change the voltage (just the label), but Nibitor can. Use Rivatuner with the shortcut command /BI, so the shortcut should read:

"C:\Program Files\RivaTuner v2.0 RC 15.6\RivaTuner.exe" /BI

...I believe. You can also use nvflash in DOS mode with the "A:\nvflash -b backup.rom" command.

After backing it up you can manipulate it with either program, NBM or Nibitor, save it as another file, and go back to DOS mode, using nvflash to flash your modified BIOS to the card.

Which voltage level it uses is selectable by the BIOS, meaning it can be reversed just as easily. Just flash it again with the backed up, unmodified BIOS that it originally had.
